Meet Heather Brothers New

President of the Chamber, Gadsden/Etowah County

Gadsden, AL

Ms. New is a native of the Gadsden area and will celebrate five years as President of The Chamber in November. She attended Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University where she majored in English.

New serves as the 2018 chair of the board of directors of Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, and a member of the board of directors of the Business Council of Alabama. She also serves on the Alabama Department of Public Health’s Office of Women’s Health Advisory Council.

Locally, she serves as chair of United Way of Etowah County’s Young Leaders Society, chair of Gadsden City Career Technical Advisory Council, member of Etowah County Career Technical Advisory Council, member of the Gadsden Public Library Foundation board, and a member of the Etowah County Mega Sports Complex Authority.

She earned an IOM certification from the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organizational Management in 2016. She is an Alabama Accredited Chamber Executive. She completed Southeast Tourism Society’s Marketing College in 2017. She was awarded the Boy Scouts of America Heart of an Eagle and Alabama Mathematics, Science, Technology Engineering Coalition for Education awards in 2016.

New resides in Gadsden with her husband Blake, They have three children: Quintan Brothers, who attends Jacksonville State University; Savannah New, who attends University of Alabama-Birmingham, Ashby New, who attends Gadsden City High School.
